Animal Farm Practise Essay

Napoleon started out as small innocent pig that was eager to get off the farm and out of the hands of the controlling humans. But once the farm was overtaken by Napoleon and all of the other animals he made 7 commandments that were to be followed and obeyed. However these commandments changed throughout the book. These 7 commandments were 1. No animals shall sleep in a bed, 2. Whatever goes upon 2 legs is an enemy, 3. whatever goes upon 4 legs or has wings is a friend, 4. No animals shall wear clothes, 5. No animal shall drink alcohol, 6. All animals are equal, 7. No animal shall kill any other animal.

when Napoleon and snowball started to fight for power they became savage and greedy for power. Napoleon later took jess’s puppies and trained them into thinking that Napoleon is always right and to be on his side. He then told the dogs to go and chase snowball off the farm and kill him so that Napoleon himself would be higher up in power.Napoleon wanted to show all of his power and control to all of the animals and made some of the animals confess major wrongdoings that they didn’t even do, after they confessed Napoleon killed them. This showed he didn’t care for all the other animals and even disobeyed one of the commandments ” No animal shall kill any other animal. Napoleon got Squealer to change the commandment to ” No animal shall kill any other animal without cause.”

Napoleon started out enthusiastic and lots of joy for the rebellion then later on when he was in power he started to become lazy and drink alcohol which meant me broke one of the commandments ” No animal shall drink alcohol.” He then got squealer to change the commandment to ” No animal shall drink alcohol in excess.” Napoleon later on became to start acting more like humans wanting money, sleeping in beds ,wearing clothes, drinking alcohol, wanting food and power. He even changes the commandments to ” All animal’s are equal but some animals are more equal then others.” Referring to Napoleon himself.

Napoleon later started to get rid all of the songs and slogans that were related to the revolution and brought about new ones relating to him and how good he was. Napoleon quoted near the end of the novel,”The name Animal Farm” has been abolished. Henceforward it shall be known as “Manor Farm.” Which Napoleon thought it would be better and more original.

Well done Jemma, you’ve done a good job in describing the events of the book here. You’ve also done a good job in describing how Napoleon has changed over the course of the novel as well. You have not linked the two ideas, however as you have not said how the event you described helped changed Napoleon as you have described. Also you’ve made a good start to using the SEXY structure, with a very clear Statement, Explanation and Example. The Your thinking/opinion part is not as clear though. Look back over your paragraphs and make sure the point you are trying to make is clear. Good start!
