Apollo 11 film review

Give a brief point overview

Apollo 11 is a documentary based on real live footage of Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin on the first moon landing. The documentary helps us to experience what it would have been like, being on the moon and what the travel up there was like. The rocket launched on 17th July 1969. They then successfully managed to make it back home with the crew working hard every day, and night to make it happen.

Discuss a character that stood out to you and why.

For me, Neil Armstrong was a character that majorly stood out. He was very brave taking the chance to be the first involved with the first moon landing. The documentary shows how determined they all are together there, and how they work as a team.  The amount of effort and time spent into organizing the first moon landing would have been so huge and tiring for all of the men, but throughout the hard times, they persisted through and finally had a world shocking experience of the first moon landing in history.

Analyze the effectiveness of the film as a documentary. Did it cover the director’s intention?

I believe the effectiveness that the film director was trying to incorporate into the film/ documentary was giving the audience experience of what it would have been like up there for the team who successfully landed on the moon for the first time in history.

Discuss the director’s intention- do you believe they were successful in presenting this.

The director’s intentions were to supply the audience with real-life footage of what the moon looked like and what the experience was when they landed. Film director, Todd Douglas Miller, successfully did so by presenting the audience with footage and giving real-life experience on the moon.
